It doesn't look like it yet, but spring is definitely coming. And then we want to be prepared for the first warming rays of the sun. That is why we are already showing you our best tips for spring in Berlin. From events and tips for excursions to our favourite places in Berlin, everything is there. The motto is: finally outside again!

Tip 1: Don't miss the best spring festivals and events

Cherry Blossom Festival in the Gardens of the World

Let's celebrate spring - there's plenty of opportunity:

  • at the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Gardens of the World on 14th of April
  • at the Britzer Baumblütenfest from 5th until 22nd of April
  • at the Carnival of cultures at Whitsun

Tip 2: Take advantage of the German holidays

Der Karneval der Kulturen findet jedes Jahr am Pfingstwochenende in Berlin-Kreuzberg statt.

German spring is the season of holidays and long weekends - and of course there is a lot going on in Berlin. Come to the Easter fires, street festivals and parades in Berlin:

  • events at Easter
  • events at 1 May
  • events around Ascension Day
  • events at Whitsun

Tip 3: Take a day trip

True to the motto "Off to the outdoors", you can go on excursions again - whether on the outskirts of Berlin or in the surrounding countryside. Our tips are the Peacock Island, the Teufelsberg, the peninsula Stralau and Lübars. But also the surrounding area of Berlin has a lot to offer.

Tip 4: Dedicate the outdoor seats in the cafés and eat your first ice cream of the year

It's time to meet up with friends for a beer after work in the beer garden again. The days are getting longer and the atmosphere outside is getting better.

Tip 10: Take a boat and do some sightseeing from the water

We think that everyone should have done Berlin sightseeing from the water once. The shipping season opens in Berlin at Easter. You can either sail past the big highlights such as the government quarter or Museum Island or you can take a tour along the Landwehr Canal or out to Lake Müggelsee.

Tip 11: Stroll over Berlin's flea markets

At Berlin's flea markets you'll find everything from art to knick-knacks, from furniture to clothes. And in spring when the sun is shining, strolling around is a lot of fun.
