Forbes today announced that it is bringing its Forbes Under 30 Summit Europe to Berlin in December, a move that reflects the central role that entrepreneurship and innovation have played in the city’s reinvention as a global engine of economic growth and social leadership over the 30 years since its reunification. Hosted in partnership with Forbes licensee Forbes DACH and The Student Hotel Group, Under 30 Summit Europe will unite more than 1,000 of the region’s most influential young business leaders and changemakers to learn, network and collaborate.

The Summit will fall less than a month after the world celebrates 30 years since the collapse of the Berlin Wall, an event that symbolized a new era of freedom, ushering in democracy and entrepreneurial capitalism across Europe.

“The 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall is an evocative reminder of the transformational power of entrepreneurial capitalism,” said Randall Lane, Forbes’ Chief Content Officer. “Three decades after the collapse of communism and the city’s reunification, Berlin is one of the world’s most exciting hubs for ambitious startups and an inspirational setting for our second Under 30 Summit Europe. In this historic year, we’ll bring together the most influential young entrepreneurs and disruptors from across the region to exchange ideas, create meaningful partnerships, and develop practical solutions to some of the world’s most-pressing challenges.”

The Forbes Under 30 Summit Europe will take place 1-4 December at The Student Hotel (TSH), the first learn, live, work and play co-living and co-working hybrid hospitality model that provides a unique destination for a fast-growing international connected community of change-makers. The Student Hotel in Berlin will be opening in September 2019 and the Forbes Under 30 Summit Europe will be the first event hosted at the new location.

“The time and the place could not be more appropriate for The Student Hotel to host Forbes’ Under 30 Summit at our first location in Berlin, which is due to open in October,” said Charlie MacGregor, Founder and CEO of The Student Hotel. “The TSH community is all about breaking down walls between people of different nationalities and cultures and interacting with local neighborhoods. Since we launched our cross-border expansion from our Dutch base just five years ago, TSH has surfed the wave of international students and other creative digital nomads spreading across Europe. The dynamic media and tech start-up hub of Berlin, with its creative buzz, is a natural destination for this pioneering tribe and so also as a home for The Student Hotel.”
